Short answer: Eid al-Fitr 2027 is expected on Tuesday March 9 or Wednesday March 10, 2027, depending on the moon sighting and on each country’s calendar. That makes the Eid al-Fitr 2027 holidays a short, busy travel window: airports, highways and family resorts fill up across the Muslim world, so book early and keep your plans flexible by a day. Below: the official holiday dates per destination, the school holidays that overlap, and where to go.

Peak season warning: Eid is when everyone travels
- Dubai: for the Eid period of 2025, Dubai International expected more than 3.6 million guests over 13 days (Stated, Dubai Media Office, March 2025). In March 2026, Eid travel through Dubai was disrupted: the airport ran at reduced capacity after missile attacks in the region (Reported, The National, March 2026). Check current travel advice before booking any Gulf trip.
- Türkiye: during the 2026 bayram, the transport minister reported more than 12.3 million vehicle crossings on highways and bridges and 873,851 passengers at Istanbul Airport (Reported, CNN Türk, March 2026).
- Malaysia: highway operator PLUS warned of a surge in traffic on peak days around Aidilfitri 2026 (Stated, PLUS, March 2026).
What this means for you: flights and family rooms around March 8 to 14, 2027 are in demand from local travelers too. Book refundable rates where you can, because Eid can move by a day after the moon sighting.
