Short answer: there’s no worldwide halal hotel chain yet. A few Gulf brands, mainly Jannah and Shaza, run hotels that are listed as alcohol-free with all-halal food, but even within those brands the policy can differ per hotel. For cheap halal holidays, you’ll usually save more by choosing a destination where halal food is the norm than by looking for a halal chain.

Shaza’s app description says all its properties are alcohol-free and serve only halal food (Stated), but the Shaza Regency Plaza listing says otherwise, so the brand-level claim is Conflicting. Jannah has said that some of its brands aren’t alcohol-free. Always check the individual hotel.

How to find cheap halal holidays
- Pick a destination where halal food is the norm. In Muslim-majority countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Türkiye and Morocco, you don’t need a special hotel to eat halal, so ordinary mid-range hotels work. See halal food in Malaysia and affordable halal hotels in Southeast Asia.
- Travel outside school holidays and Eid. Those weeks fill up first at halal-focused resorts.

- Don’t pay extra for a label. “Halal-friendly” can mean very little. Pay for what you actually need (all-halal food, no alcohol, women-only pool) and check it’s listed.
