Short answer: for a halal stay on a private or one-resort island, the Maldives is where the options are. On many Maldives islands the resort is the only thing there, and several list all-halal food and pool villas that nobody can see into. One, Fiyavalhu, is listed as fully alcohol-free. In the Caribbean, we could not verify any island resort as halal or alcohol-free, so plan carefully if you go there.

Which island resort fits you?
- No alcohol anywhere: Fiyavalhu is the only Maldives resort we’ve found listed as alcohol-free. Its beach and main pool are mixed, so book a Beach Pool Villa if you want to swim privately.
- All-halal food with a private jacuzzi or pool: Centara Grand Lagoon lists all food as halal and a fully secluded jacuzzi in every villa.
- A whole island to yourselves for a day: Furaveri lists a private-hire secluded island, for a surcharge.
- Honeymoon: compare all options in halal honeymoon destinations.

Halal resorts in the Caribbean: what actually exists
Many families search for a halal resort in the Caribbean. We looked, and we could not find a Caribbean or Bahamas resort that we can verify as halal-certified or fully alcohol-free. Some are listed on halal-focused booking platforms, but the listings we checked didn’t confirm halal food or an alcohol-free environment.
A Caribbean trip can still work: request halal meals in writing before you book, plan around seafood and vegetarian dishes, and choose a villa with its own kitchen. Our full guide to halal all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean explains how.
How to check privacy before you book
- Ask whether your villa’s pool is “fully secluded” or only “mostly secluded”, and what can see into it (other villas, walkways, boats).
- Ask whether all food is halal, and whether alcohol is served anywhere on the island.
- For overwater villas, ask whether the deck is visible from the jetty or neighboring villas.

FAQ
Is there an alcohol-free island resort in the Maldives?
Yes. HalalBooking lists Fiyavalhu Resort in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll as an alcohol-free property where all food is halal.
Are there halal resorts in the Caribbean?
We haven’t been able to verify one as halal-certified or fully alcohol-free. Ask resorts for halal meals in advance and get the answer in writing.
What does “fully secluded” mean on a listing?
It’s the highest of HalalBooking’s privacy labels for pools and sunbathing areas; “mostly” and “part-secluded” are lower. To be sure, ask the resort for photos taken from outside the villa.
